Kindness, Empathy, Compassion

Kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous, considerate, and nice. Empathy is the ability to identify with and understand another person’s situation or feelings. It is an intellectual identification of the thoughts, feelings, or state of another person. In short, empathy is being able to put yourself in someone else’s shoes and understand where they are coming from. Compassion is the deep awareness of the suffering of another accompanied by the wish to relieve it. It is the sympathetic consciousness of others’ distress together with a desire to alleviate that stress.

When I decided to launch this movement, I dedicated my life to the purpose of bringing kindness, empathy, and compassion to others to encourage and help others to fulfill their potential and purposes in life to contribute in a positive way to their communities. As someone who has been in emergency medicine for over 25 years, first as a paramedic and then as an emergency room nurse, I have taken care of countless numbers of patients and family members that often come seeking healthcare for physical ailments when often they were just looking for someone to listen to them and help them get through a stressful difficult time in their life. When we experience stress, or our lives are out of balance then we often have physical symptoms that may cause long-term ailments or diseases. Patients that I have taken care of are often scared and living out of fear that they might be alone or not around anymore to see their loved ones. Fear is driven by a person’s failures and rejections from the different experiences in their life. If I can help someone turn around their thoughts and lead them on a new path to where they’re living out of love and not out of fear, then they can find their purpose in life and fulfill their potential in a positive way in the communities in which they live.

Why am I doing this movement? I am dedicated to this because I feel it is my purpose to lead others in a positive way to achieve peace, joy, and happiness in their daily lives. I am a strong passionate leader who believes in creative holistic living and maintaining a balanced life in which the body, mind, heart, and spirit are all in sync daily. Each part is just as important as the other and when one is out of focus or ignored then the whole system is out of balance, and we experience stress and a tumultuous time. I hope to share with others the knowledge and insights to living a creative holistic balanced life so they can find their purpose for living and reach their potential in a positive manner. We are living today at a time when the country and the world seem to be more divided than it has been in a long time. People seem to be more stressed and anxious than they have ever been. There seems to be a lack of coping skills and a decline in critical thinking skills. When people are stressed, they aren’t sure where to turn or how to keep themselves from going down a negative path or get themselves out of a bad situation they get scared and live out of fear. Bad leaders take advantage of these stressful moments when people are spiraling down and prey on their fears to get them headed down worse paths that lead to worse experiences and more negativity. Fear leads to failure and rejection which can lead to more homelessness, bullying, crime, and violence in society. People who are living out of fear are living with insecurities, low self-esteem, and a lack of responsibility for their own choices and decisions in their lives. They feel like everything is out of their control. They are often looked down upon by society which continues to keep them on a downward negative spiral, and they feel like they are in a deep hole that they will never be able to crawl out of.

The kindness, empathy, and compassion movement was created to help people move from a place of living out of fear of h failure and rejection to living out of the ultimate place of love through the development of self-awareness, mindfulness and meditation, listening, enlightenment of one’s own emotions, feelings and thoughts, critical thinking and coping skills, and creativity. These concepts build a person’s self-esteem, confidence, accountability and responsibility for their choices and decisions, and intelligence in a positive manner which leads to a sense of inner peace, joy, and happiness.

Expressing kindness, empathy, and compassion helps others feel good about themselves but it also makes us feel good about ourselves. It is a continuous circle that validates everyone. When we feel validated, we are building our confidence and self-securities. We are living a holistic balanced life.

Before I began this movement, I studied self-awareness and became self-aware of my own personality, thoughts, feelings, emotions, desires, and character traits. I did more intensive journaling and character mapping of myself. I looked back at the experiences throughout my life and my role in each of those outcomes. I realized that I am the only one to be held accountable and responsible along my life’s journey. I make my own choices and decisions that affect my life and the path I am on, and I am the only one that can make changes along the way. I can change my attitude, the resources I listen to, and the social relationships I have.

As I begin my communication with you, the first thing we all need to do is make the statement, “I am accountable and responsible for my own thoughts, feelings, emotions, desires, actions, behaviors, reactions, attitude, and purpose throughout my life’s journey.” If I don’t have the skills, tools, and things to bring me peace, joy, and happiness, I can’t blame anyone else and I will not feel guilty or ashamed of myself for not developing these to fulfill my potential and purpose. I will change my attitude to be able to develop the skills to achieve my potential and know my purpose in my life.

The process of positive personal development which I strive for every day will lead to living a creative holistic balanced life and bring me a sense of inner peace, joy, and happiness. I will live from a place of love instead of fear. Kindness, empathy, and compassion will become second nature and continue to build positive vibes and opportunities around me and others. These building steps will continue on a daily basis.

The process, which I will go into more depth, includes

1 Self-awareness

2 Mindfulness and Meditation

3 Critical Thinking Skills

4 Creativity

5 Listening and Communication Skills

6 Self-Management

7 Self-Control

I am excited and feel encouraged to fulfill my purpose and help others begin to develop their awareness to live a creative holistic balanced life and fulfill their potential and find their purpose as well. It all starts with kindness and being self-aware. Let’s become self-aware and accountable for our own journeys in life.
